The progeny of one this country's greatest composers, and still in high school this super talented MC is the reason 'The sky's the limit was invented'. Rolling like a rhyming thesaurus and with a wisdom beyond his years, Name UL rocks hip-hop like it's his destiny.
Known as the most successful female MC in Drum & Bass of all time, Tali is as at home hyping the crowd and rhyming with a DJ as she is with singing solo with just a guitar. There is so much to the talented Tali !
Known for his supremely tight mixes and even tighter Drum & Bass productions. Trei's music ably bridges the gap between musicality and dance floor devastation.
Borderline is a true badman of NZ drum and bass. Known worldwide for his heavy bass pressure productions that have seen him test the limits of the hardest of sound-systems. Once you cross the Borderline there's no going back!
Brace yourself for a full scale block party as the keytar wielding K+Lab lands the mothership at Summerlands. This year his album 'Space Dirt' topped the beatport charts and he sold out shows worldwide, from Australia to Canada. He's on a mission to re-take the funk, and he's succeeding.
Aaron Tokona is the buzzing hori behind Ahoribuzz. Wild haired and electric, he leads his band in an uniquely kiwi exploration of blues, rock, funk and psychedelica. Like a funky Grateful Dead on acid the Ahoribuzz experience gets transcendently splendid.
THE UPBEATS LIVE
NZ Kings of DnB, The Upbeats are known for their live energy as much as their beats and jaw dropping bass riffs. With this show set to be no exception. At Summerlands they are performing LIVE with acclaimed USA MC Armanni Reign. Long may they reign!
Aotearoa's very own soul goddess. Whether performing her solo work, singing number one hits for Don McGlashan or working with future beat producer Mara TK, it is the uniquely soulful timbre of Hollie Smith's voice that pulls her vast audience in and doesn't let go.
Highly regarded as one of the best Drum & Bass producers on the planet and hot off the release of 2013 album Chroma Chords, Alix Perez has staked his own territory in the D&B universe. Equal parts deep and uplifting, expect excellence.
DUB FX's live videos have now been viewed by millions because of his ability to create bass heavy rhythms with nothing more than a microphone, a loop pedal and his voice. His live talent and authenticity have taken him from street busker to festival headliner.
WIth a love for all things broken beat and hip-hop Little Massive rolls like a musical chop-shop. Cutting in soul samples with live instruments and a tasteful serving of bass, he crafts a sound that incites head nods and hip shakes.
Next generation kiwi roots-rock band Summer Thieves take a raw stripped back approach to their music. Breaking the elements down to a 3 -piece gives space for the gravelly howl of Jake Barton to carry you away on a rusty zephyr musical road trip.
